Good morning, everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend.

Don't forget to hit share and like.

Smoky sky conditions again today. That smoke should lift out tomorrow.

Above-average temperatures today through Wednesday. Some locations could hit the 90-degree mark! Enjoy.

Rain chances ramp up Wednesday through Sunday. It won't rain all the time, of course, on and off chances.

A wide range of rainfall totals, but generally one to two inches of rain between Wednesday and Sunday night. Locally, much higher totals.

The daily www.weathertalk.com video has been updated on your Beau Dodson Weather app. Please take a look at that on your app.

Hurricane season officially begins today.

The current outlook shows no significant threats over the next seven to ten days.

The Saharan dust is quite impressive over the Atlantic. This dust can help dampen tropical threats.

The Gulf waters are extremely warm. This is a concern.

Last year, the extremely warm Gulf waters fueled Category 4 Hurricane Helene. As we know, it devastated portions of Florida and the Appalachian Mountains.

Let's hope we don't have another system like that in the Gulf.

Later today, isolated storms may form during peak heating.

If storms form, they could produce brief downpours, dime-sized hail, and 50 mph wind gusts. Downburst winds are possible.

Rain chances ramp up mid to late week. Locally heavy rain will be the primary concern.

Graphics show two models for later today. The placement won't be exact, but take the general idea from these two graphics.

A couple of storms may form today.

Good morning!

We made it! 🙂

It certainly was a bumpy ride to get to this point. Spring was not kind to us.

Meteorologists are a bit weird. We like to measure seasons a bit differently.

Meteorological summer is defined as the period from June 1 to August 31.

This three-month period is used for meteorological record-keeping and data analysis because it aligns with the typical temperature patterns of the warmest months.

Unlike the astronomical seasons, which are based on the Earth's orbit and solstice/equinox dates, meteorological seasons are based on the calendar.
